tHE Issue
According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network) 1 in 6 American women has been a victim of sexual assault.
Every 2.5 minutes someone in America is sexually assaulted.
73% of assaults reported in 2005 were perpetrated by someone the victim knew.
It is difficult to gather accurate statistics on sexual assault, because so few cases are actually reported.

It is time for women to stand up and reclaim our sacredness.
It is time for us to go home to the safety, beauty, and power within. We reclaim our bodies as our own.
We open wide the door to our freedom, joy, creativity, and
   self love.

It’s persONal
“ I don’t know how to address all of these issues, but I would like to address all of the continued harm that happens when we carry the shame of sexual assault inside and don’t share it. I would like to address how we are held back by hating ourselves and our bodies. I would like to initiate a movement to stop the self hate. It is rooted in the personal; I don’t want to hate myself anymore. I don’t want any other person to feel the kind of guilt and shame and hatred that I have felt for myself.”

Our coming hOMe events invite survivors of sexual assault or domestic violence to come together and celebrate the SACRED FEMININE within; and to support one another on our journey towards freedom from the internalized trauma of our past experiences.

Enjoy 8-10 hours of  progressive yoga asana, pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation, formatted and presented by a certified yoga therapist over the course of this weekend retreat.

Explore your creativity with art therapy techniques to creatively manifest and share your internal experience.

Dive into the practice of Intentional Writing in which we allow the truth of our experience to rise to the surface and be freely expressed in a safe and loving space.

A healthful lunch will be served on Saturday. We will share this time to practice mindful eating, celebrating our bodies and honor our needs.

Throughout the weekend we will explore listening and sharing practices that will culminate with a final sharing circle and celebration.

Inviting survivors of invasive trauma to come together and celebrate

the SACRED FEMININE within; and to support one another on our journey towards freedom from the internalized trauma of our past experiences.

“When there are people like you who care, who are healers, and also survivors; there is something special about being asked to come to a sacred space ... to be held with honor and knowing that healing is [occurring] over a long time and on many levels.

It touched me to be offered a kindness as an oasis. That comes along infrequently.

It brought me back to my inner kindness -the nurturing kindness that you all gave to us made its way into my core. This morning

I found myself dialoguing with my inner critic and engaging the shame beneath it, to really work it out so that I can remove more of the ghosts from the original and accumulated trauma created.

I, we as survivors, need the deserted places to be fertilized as we symbolically did over the weekend, to be enriched-- to grow-- hands stretching towards the sky (what's that pose called?) until we are filled once again with a yet different love and grace within ourselves to overflow into others' lives as a kindness, as a peace, connected to each other.”
