YOGA SUTRAS CHAPTER ONE

1.1 We begin the study of Yoga.
1.2. What is Yoga? Yoga is experiencing oneness that leads to LOVE.
1.3 This way we get to know the nature of all things.
1.4 Unless the mind is to busy to see.
1.5 What is the mind? The mind is the activity in your head.
1.6 There are 5 activities: understanding, misunderstanding, imagination, deep sleep and memory.
1.7 We understand objects through our senses, also through logic and memory; books or other references. Yoga helps to understand things.
1.8 Misunderstanding is when we believe something to be true when it is not and yoga keeps us away from this.
1.9 What is Imagination? Imagination is to know something in our mind and not through the outside world.
1.10 What is deep sleep? Deep sleep is when the mind is so tired of the activities that it needs to rest
1.11 What is memory? Memory is everything we store in our mind including things that exist or not.
1.12 Yoga is found through practice and letting go.
1.13 Practice with effort and intention.
1.14 With discipline and enthusiasm you will find yoga, too.
1.15 With surrender and letting go so distractions will dissolve or disappear.
1.16 Then you will see how beautiful, pure and bright you truly are.
1.17 And how we all are ONE through the power of love.
1.18 Although you will still use your mind to relate to this world.
1.19 Some special people don’t need to do much to find yoga because they are already there...but if they are not careful, they might lose it!
1.20 What do we need to find Yoga? All we need is hope, all we need is to believe to see this and find it, because everyone can find it, it’s all a matter of time.
1.21 The more we believe, the easier it gets.
1.22 And it will depend on each person and what they believe.
1.23 Offer everything to the LOVE. That is where we come from and which is bigger than us.
1.24 And LOVE is all there IS.
1.25 LOVE is the highest knowledge.
1.26 LOVE will never end because it is eternal.
1.27 The way we connect to the LOVE is through OM.
1.28 Be believing in and repeating OM, you get closer to LOVE.
1.29 And we get to know who we really are, without doubt, without distractions.
1.30 Be careful with the distractions; do you know what they are? They are sickness, mental doubts, lack of enthusiasm, fatigue, wanting more, false perception of who we are, lack of perseverance, and instability.
1.31 Because these distractions can bring: pain, negative thinking, discomfort in the body, and irregularity of our breath
1.32 To avoid those feeling, keep your mind calm through concentration.
1.33 Also by being happy for the people who are happy, compassionate for the unhappy, joyful because of all the positive, and indifferent about the negative.
1.34 You can also calm your mind through your breath.
1.35 More than our 5 senses, we have the power within ourselves to know LOVE.
1.36 Thinking of LOVE will bring clarity of who we are.
1.37 We can also ask for help from others who have known LOVE.
1.38 Pay attention to your dreams, they might be telling you something.
1.39 You can also calm the mind by focusing on just one thing.
1.40 You know what? Once you find Yoga, there is nothing you can’t understand.
1.41 Because the experience of oneness is available to you with anything you choose. Because you are LOVE.
